Trials were carried out in red loams to determine yield responses of potato in relation to varying intra- and inter-row spacings as main plots and different sizes of seed tubers as sub-plots during rabi 1974–75. The maximum gross yield (356.29 q/ha) was obtained with spacings of 50×18cm2 when large sized seed tubers were used, while medium sized seed tubers when spaced at 70×30 cm2 yielded the lowest (222.22 q/ha). Spacings with 50×18 cm2 and 60×15 cm2 were significantly superior to other spacings in respect of net yield when either medium or large sized tubers were used. The lowest net yield was obtained with the spacings of 70×13 cm when large sized seed tubers were used.
