The experiment on the soaking of potato seed tubers in phosphate solution prior planting was conducted during winter season of 1977–78 and 1978–79 at the Research Farm of Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar. Soaking Treatments showed a significant positive effect on tuber yield through its effect on Irage size tubers. The tuber yield averaged over two years was maximum at soaking of tubers in 1.5% super phosphate + 0.5% urea + 0.05% Agromin + Dithane M-45 @ 0.2% solution for 4 hours with 50 Kg P2O5/ha applied to soil at planting. Keeping economics in mind soaking of tuber with 1.5% super phosphate + 0.5% urea + 0.05% Agromin + Dithane M-45 @ 0.2% with the soil application of 50 Kg P2O5 was highly remunerative and gave addition income about Rs. 800/- over the soil application of 50 Kg P2O5/ha. Double the dsoe of super phosphate and urea in solution used for the soaking had improvement of stem/hill and tuber/hill, but had on effect no yield. Agromin did not have any significant influence on any charcters including tuber yield.
