Abstract

Explains the new means of information storing & retrieval such as multimedia, CD-ROMs, DVDs and online materials etc. are in vogue which has changed the analog systems to digital systems. Along with the changes, increasingly has come the pervasive emphasis on computer-based technologies and multimedia design and access. Thus, information technology has fundamentally affected the operations of library and information services and this has also great impact on the education and training of the users and library teachers on various levels. All these developments and innovations also need the changes in the curriculum and the teaching pattern at the schools of library science and information studies.
