School libraries play an important role in developing the overall personality of the school-going children. However, it depends upon the quality of services that are being provided by school libraries. The quality of library services provided by the school library depends on the size and nature of collection, staff and the physical infrastructure. The aim of the present paper is to highlight the present scenario of school libraries in district Anantnag of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of collection, staff and services. A questionnaire designed for this purpose was framed with components focusing on nature and number of collection, services and the staff of the school libraries. Questionnaire was distributed among different schools in the district and data collected is analysed statistically. Main findings of the study indicate that school libraries have not flourished in the district Anantnag. Physical infrastructure, collection and services provided by these libraries have not developed sufficiently.
