In the present era, massive open online course (MOOC) has become a hot topic and is spreading over in every discipline including library and information science (LIS). Therefore, this study aims to define the concept of MOOC and variant scopes provided by MOOC in LIS domain. This study also discusses about the different roles of LIS professionals in MOOC environment.
