Information Storage and Broadcasting Services-By M.P. Radio Stations: A Study (With Special Reference to Indore City)

Abstract

The mass communication media such as radio, television, films, press and print publications, advertising and traditional modes of communication plays an important role in helping people to access free flow of information. In India, the mass communication media emphasises on facilitating entertainment needs of various age groups and focus attention of people on issues of national integrity, environmental protection, health care, family welfare, eradication of illiteracy and others. This article discussed the various services of radio centres of Indore city. Conclusion reveals that audience is benefited by the education and music programmes of radio centres of Indore city, but the coverage area of radio centres are found small. Many areas are affected due to non-availability of better transmitter and good services. All India Radio/Vividh Bharti is a good channel for illiterates also. All the channels should provide newspaper services and entertaining programmes to their audience.
