Abstract

Human resource management is one of the most vital functions in any organisation. The need of a human resource information system also increases along with the growth of the present organisation. This paper emphasises the use and importance of open source software (OSS) for human resource management information systems (HRMISs). Comparison of different OSSs for HRMIS is also presented with modules such as admin, personnel, time, leave and many more. OrangeHRM-an OSS has been chosen to create and manage a HRMIS in the library of S.O.A. University and different modules developed have been presented.
