In the present scenario of information technology, mobile technology has become the first choice of the masses, as everyone wants information on finger tips. Today, users require information when they want it, where they want it and how they want it. So, for fulfilling users’ need, libraries have to remain on the forefront of technology. Earlier also librarians have dealt with new technological advances to improve their services. With the help of mobile technology, variety of operations and assistance can be provided to the clients. Interaction with the clients can be done conveniently while using mobile technology. Librarians well understand the importance of technology, so they are helping their clients in fulfilling their demand of information, via consulting online resources and thus saving lots of time of their clients. This paper is an attempt to find out the features, services, devices, advantages, disadvantages of mobile technology and its application in libraries and information centres for providing user-friendly, personalised and dynamic information retrieval services to their clients.
