Where to Publish? Think before You Publish

Abstract

The journals have been the source of primary and authentic information since their inception. It is because of the fact that they publish research output first, thus, the information published therein, possess authenticity. But the pressure to publish a minimum of publications while pursuing PhD and for career advancement and further the availability of many journals over Internet has led to the poor quality of the papers. Though not all the times, the journals being published as open access are the predatory journals but most of the times they seem to be the predatory. Therefore, the question arises-where to publish? This paper presents an overview on the predatory journals and also suggests some remedies to overcome the problems, especially in library and information science field.
