Information Seeking Behavior of Users of Pharmacy Colleges in Rajasthan

This article reports the results of a study of the information seeking behavior users of Pharmacy Colleges in Rajasthan. Data were collected by using a questionnaire from 835 respondents in Pharmacy College in Rajasthan. Results show that most of respondents 495 (20.6%) stated their method of seeking information by consulting a knowledgeable person in the field. 615(34.6%) seek information for updating knowledge. 608 (17.87%) respondents access more information from text books and 600(17.64%) respondents access more information from reference books. It is revealed that most of the respondents 608(17.87%) used textbooks, 240(7.05%) used Periodicals 778(52.5%) respondents know English language and 635 (42.9%) respondents know Hindi Language 800 (75.2%) respondents read information materials in English and 261 (24.5%) respondents read information materials in Hindi. They use frequently e-mail for communication. It is found that 795 (96.7%) respondents use internet and 27 (3.3%) respondents don't use internet for communication. The majority of respondents faced the common problem while seeking information that is unavailability of information.
