Abstract

Reading habits have been cultivated by human beings since time immemorial. It helps to pass words of wisdom and knowledge from one generation to another generation. Reading enhances the vision and provides new knowledge to the mind. The vital factor for intellectual and emotional growth is reading. This paper is an attempt to study about the reading habits of college and university students in Kashmir. In this paper, researchers analyze and indicate the language of the newspaper, time spent on reading, format of newspaper, choice of newspaper, choice of topic in newspaper and purpose of reading newspapers.
