Use of LIS links by library professionals in India: A survey

The study presents an analysis of survey on use of LIS-Links by LIS professionals. Total 118 responses received from LIS professionals from various states of India were analysed. The purpose of the study was to find out how the respondents use and participate in LIS-Links. It has been observed that the majority of respondents (49.15%) use LIS-link daily. The main purpose stated for using LIS Links is to keep in touch with other library professionals (21.03%). Latest Job Alerts (69.49%) rated as very important features of LIS-Links. However, it is also noted that the majority of respondents (45.76%) always reading post of other members only but they do not contribute any post in LIS-Links.
