A Survey on the Public Library Users in District Central Library, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh

The main purpose of this study is to examine the awareness of public library users regarding library resources and services and their satisfaction with the District Central Library in Kakinada. To achieve the objectives of the study, a survey was conducted using a convenient sampling method. One hundred and twenty questionnaires were distributed to public library users, and ninety-two usable responses were received. This study reveals that a majority of respondents (80.43%) visit the library to prepare for competitive examinations, with 45.65% utilizing the library's circulation service, 47.83% seeking help from library staff to access library resources, and a majority of the respondents (67.40%) stating that the library has proper lighting and ventilation facilities. However, there is a need to provide recreational facilities. It is suggested to offer internet facilities, e-resources, and computers for public library users.
