Text mining in library services for information access and resource discovery

Abstract

The digital conversion of library resources has resulted in terabytes of unstructured text data, necessitating more advanced information systems to aid information access and discovery. Text mining has gained significant value through combining machine learning and Natural Language Processing. This paper deals with text mining processes, different methods, and tools in the context of library services to enhance information retrieval and resource discovery. It also discusses summarization, topic discovery, information extraction, and retrieval. It assesses the processes, techniques, and tools of text mining employed in library services to increase information accessibility.
