This study investigates the status and application of different modules of the Koha Library Management Software in the Central Library of Al-Barkaat Institute of Education (ABIE). The research focuses on evaluating the software’s effectiveness, user awareness, and the extent of its usage by both staff and patrons. Using a questionnaire-based approach, data were collected from a sample of 30 library users. The findings reveal that while the library actively utilizes the Cataloguing and Circulation modules for functions such as classification, book numbering, check-ins/check-outs, inquiries, and report generation, the Acquisition module remains unused due to insufficient staff training. Membership management and barcode scanning are efficiently handled through Koha, and the library also uses the software to manage periodicals and send reminders to suppliers. The study found that the majority of users visit the library weekly and primarily search by subject, author, or title. User feedback indicates overall satisfaction with Koha’s features, and 46% of respondents rated the librarian’s behavior as good, with others rating it very good or excellent. These findings affirm the tenability of the research hypotheses and underscore the importance of continued training and module integration to fully optimize the Koha system.
