The paper aims to evaluate the status and strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of the Vidhya Bharti Library, Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal. The study focuses on qualitative data collection through unstructured interviews and the use of a structured questionnaire in printed format for quantitative data. According to the survey results, there is a shortage of reference volumes. Changing user preferences in reading, such as an increasing desire to seek information outside the library, may lower perceived value. There is a risk of losing experienced employees due to retirement or professional moves, resulting in gaps in institutional knowledge. It has been revealed that only a few studies have been completed on academic libraries, but the special libraries of forestry research and education in India are very few and have been covered by researchers as far as the SWOT analysis is concerned. Using the SWOT analysis, this study has attempted to analyze the library’s present scenario in each section and area.
