This case study investigates the impact of plagiarism on research at Osmania University, focusing on its prevalence, causes, and consequences. By analyzing incidents of plagiarism reported over the past decade, the study reveals patterns and trends that highlight underlying issues in academic integrity. The research employs a quantitative method, including a survey with faculty and students, as well as a review of institutional policies and disciplinary actions. Findings suggest that plagiarism at Osmania University is influenced by factors such as inadequate understanding of academic writing standards, pressure to publish, and insufficient deterrents. The study underscores the detrimental effects of plagiarism on the university’s academic reputation, the credibility of its research outputs, and the ethical development of its students. Recommendations for mitigating plagiarism include enhanced education on academic integrity, strict enforcement of plagiarism policies, and the adoption of advanced plagiarism detection technologies. This case study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the plagiarism issue at Osmania University and offers insights for developing effective strategies to foster a culture of academic honesty.
