Abstract

This study conducts a citation analysis of the journal Ethics and Global Politics, examining citation patterns and research trends over a five-year period (2019-2023). Analyzing 1,986 citations from 79 research articles, the study reveals insights into the volume and issue-wise distribution of citations and author patterns. The findings show that primary sources and textbooks are predominantly cited, with single-author publications dominating the citation landscape. The study also identifies the top-ranked journals and geographical distribution of journal publications, providing valuable information for librarians and information scientists to inform acquisition policies, collection development, and budget allocation. The study demonstrates the utility of citation analysis in understanding research trends and informing decision-making in academic publishing and library management.
