Educating Library Professionals: An Essentiality in Digital Era

Libraries are now universally recognized as important social institutions for diffusion of knowledge and information. No community, institution or organization is considered complete without the support of a library and its effective services. In the age of information explosion, libraries and information resource centers have become multimedia centers due to adoption of new technological devices and changing nature of their information and communication technologies began to build up an information society, which has crossed the geographical limitations and has provided facilities to access into global information systems. So library people are expected to be trained in the handling o new technologies for providing efficient services to its users.
