Abstract

The capabilities of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) such as high resolution capture devices dramatic increase of digital storage media explosive growth of Internet, World Wide Web (WWW), sophisticated search engines, fast processing power and reducing cost of computer, high bandwidth networks and increasing number of electronic publication etc. home revolutionized the role of the libraries and information centers all over the world by watching it possible for the establishment of dissemination of information. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Libraries have extensive experience in providing computer based information services, a great deal of efforts has been invested in transforming useful information and services into web access. They have dynamically creative web sites and improvement on the design and lay out of the web sites have been made progressively. This paper made an honest attempt to evaluate the Indian Institute of Technology Library Websites with the identified criteria for the verification of validity, reliability and usefulness of the criteria.
