An attempt has been made to study the information needs of the students and teaching faculty of colleges using survey method obtaining duly filled 1143 questionnaires. The study highlighted the purpose of visiting the library, different types of Information needs, assessment of collections in the library and methods adopted for searching various information sources. Concludes with a concern to revamp the functioning of college libraries towards better qualitative services keeping in view of the users needs and modernize and improve the collections and information services to the timely needs of the users.
