The ability to access, evaluate, and use of information plays a key role among the academicians and students. The teachers as well as the librarians should be able to provide opportunities for students to learn the techniques of extracting the information for the use of the information resources more effectively for their course work. To create such interest among students and to change their style of approach in searching information for their teaching, learning or research’ the skill attainment should be mould by either the teachers or by the librarians.
This study is made with an aim to identify the skill attainment in locating, selecting, organizing and interpreting the information in the way in which it could be most effectively extracted and used by the B.Ed., class puplis. To improve the development of user's skill, sufficient training should be made available. To attain the same, the user's skill before and after training among B.Ed. students have been carried out during their time of course by segregating them in to groups. The main criteria considered among the sample chosen were: Information Sources, Reference services, Organizing Method, Interpreting skill related training etc.
