The web technology has profound impact on the functioning of library and information centers across the globe. The application of Web 2.0 technologies for library resources and services led to emergence of a new librarianship called as library 2.0. This paper discusses the principles of Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 and also the application of web 2.0 technologies for the development of Library 2.0 services.
