Abstract

The paper attempts to study the user satisfaction of electronic journals and databases subscribed by I.G.M Library, University of Hyderabad by distributing 510 questionnaires to faculty and research scholars of 4 science disciplines. On analysis of the responses it is observed that the academic community is extensively using the Databases of their respective subjects and the satisfaction level ranged between 90% to 94%. Science Direct database was ranked 1st. followed by Scifinder, Scopus and others. However the users are dissatisfied with the infrastructural facilities in accessing the electronic journals. Finally it is concluded that the vendors should conduct user awareness programs by coordinating with the libraries to train the users in tapping the e-resources.
