Abstract

This is the 3G technology era and in this era each and everyday people want to experience new things with innovative thoughts and ideas. Nowadays people like to perform their daily work with the help of electronic devices. In the recent times, mobile phones have become the indispensable needs of the people. Earlier, these devices were considered as the means of communication for connecting people. But today, they have become the multi-tasking devices. There are several brands in the arena of mobile phones which are competing with each other. All these brands have launched a lot of mobile phones with outstanding features and wonderful looks. Now that 3G technologies have reached their maturity, newly advanced services can be delivered to the mobile user. These include context aware services, adaptable services and Virtual Home Environment (VHE)-like services. Important research issues relate, however, to managing such services through appropriate service architectures which permit effective adaptation mechanisms, allowing the user to experience an ‘adapted’ service as he/she switches across terminals, networks, and providers. 3G technology adds the advantages of full-time connectivity, broad coverage, security, improved end user experience including ubiquity, reach ability, localisation and personalisation of other mobile wireless solutions It complements other wireless technologies such as satellite technologies, Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) or WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network), Bluetooth and wired technologies. In this article we discussed about emerging wireless 3G technologies Evaluation and its application and future challenges.
