Impact of user characteristics on the use of library: A review

This paper is an attempt to reveal the existing gap through literature review. The use of any library does not depend on the physical facility or the service. The use varies from user to user, as not every person is using the library in same manner and in the same amount because the user group is not having homogenous characteristics. The user group can be divided based on the number of characteristics like demographic, psychological or educa-tional etc. Lot of studies have been done over this issue and to understand the user but still there are some major areas and issues which are left to examine.
