Information Management in Self Finance Engineering College Libraries in Chennai In The Context of Paradigm Shift

Information is considered as one of the important natural resource, as such it is an important factor in the socio-economic growth of a nation. The well developed nations are good in managing and delivering information to various agencies which work for the improvement of the nation. The agencies or the institutions are nothing but the educational, commercial, financial, and social institutions. These institutions are acquiring a lot of information every year through their libraries by spending huge amount of money on their surveillance and prosperity. No doubt the Indian libraries are also spending huge amount every year for acquiring and disseminating information, especially the educational institutions are spending large amount every year. So, it is necessary to review the information acquired by them which also needs to be properly managed and disseminated to their clientele. Thus, based on this aspect a role model study has been carried outon some of the self finance engineering college libraries to focus on the pros and cons of information management in the context of paradigm shift.
