Internet has given lot of opportunities to the information society in various forms. Information and Communication Technology helps people with instant exchange of knowledge and information in the digital form with the help of social network tools that are available on the Internet. This paper describes one such social network tool – Really Simple Syndication or in short the RSS feed. The application of the RSS in libraries is widely prevalent in western countries and has not gained traction in Indian libraries as yet. This paper is an attempt to review some of the RSS features, structure, and developments comparison with email facilities and RSS and how one can use them effectively.
