Abstract

The article explains the concept of collection development policy (CDP) and traces the need and benefits of CDP in academic libraries. It highlights the issues involved in collection development of e-resources and the need to incorporate e-resource in the CDP. A study is conducted in six University Libraries of Karnataka to know regarding their acquisition and the CDP in their libraries. The results show that all the libraries have a CDP.
