Online surveys gain much importance in this information age due to the advent of information technology. Large numbers of librarians adopt user surveys so as to obtain feedback about the existing infrastructure and services from a specific community. There must be an alternative for existing tools, such as printed questionnaire and other mode of data collection. Hence, designing online questionnaire becomes very essential, which ultimately saves time, money and becomes feasible. The present study focuses on the tools available for online survey, steps involved, system requirements, data collection, compilation and processing of input, dissemination of results and outcome.
