This study examines the patterns of publications in the Journal of Educational Media and Library Science (JoEMLS) from 2008 to 2012. It is observed that publications of JoEMLS are led by two-author papers, followed by single-author papers and three-author papers. The degree of collaboration in JoEMLS publications is found to be 0.63. Taiwan occupies the top position in the country-wise ranking of publications, followed by China and Malaysia. The frequent occurrences of keywords indexed in the articles, like ‘bibliometrics’, ‘information literacy’ and ‘digital archive’, indicate its research focus on promising areas of librarianship. On examination of citations of all the published articles of JoEMLS, it is found that among the 99 published papers, only 17 have received their relative impact as they have been more or less cited in other different published sources.
