This article is based on primary survey conducted in the year 2006–2007 and supplemented by the secondary data collected for the pre-and post-survey period from the years 2004–2012. Statistical tests reflect variation in the mean values and standard deviation. The datasets of responses received and the usage are compared to find the strength of association between these two variables by means of Karl Pearson's coefficient of correlation (r). The figures representing the ranks for the mean, standard deviation and coefficient variation of two variables under study, i.e., responses and the usage before and after the survey period show weak relationship. The reasons attributed are – lack of awareness about e-resources and their accessibility, speed and also poor infrastructural facilities in pre-survey period and the high bandwidth and techniques of accessing the e-resources in the postperiod show variance in the mean and standard deviation. It is concluded that surveys should be supplemented with secondary data for the same period and statistically tested to arrive at logical and precise interpretations and conclusion. This study is guidance for researchers undertaking research in the field to interpret data statistically and arrive at conclusions.
