State of Reading Habits among Engineering Colleges Teachers and Students: A Case Study of Muktsar District of Punjab, India

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) has changed every sphere of human life. Slowly over time people are becoming more dependent upon the technology and its components. The present study is an attempt to investigate whether IT has influenced the state of reading habits of engineering colleges’ teachers and students. A structured questionnaire was developed and distributed among the 150 randomly selected respondents from three engineering colleges of Muktsar District of Punjab. The results of study inferred that a majority of the respondents (59%) prefer to read digital material as compared to print material.
