Rewiring services: A review of digitalization’s transformative power

Digitalization holds the transformative power, reshaping the landscape of business organizations with enormous impacts on strategy, value creation and structure mechanism. In an era of technological advancements, digitalization emerged as driving force to change the scenario of services across industries. The present study confers a comprehensive review of digital transformation on various services since there is lack of adequate studies aimed at mapping digital transformation process in service domains. This paper through a systematic literature review, aims to provide insight into adoption of digital technologies, ways in which digitalization redefined the services in digital era. Through a synthesis of related literature, the transformation is presented in five vital domains: business development services, financial services, environmental services, and consumer services with further categorization to offer deepen understanding of the multifaceted impact of digitalization on a wide range of services.
