Emotional intelligence and its relation to organizational citizenship behaviour: Study of Indian Cooperative bank Employees

The current study focuses on employees of cooperative banks in India. The main emphasis of this study is to explore the association between the Emotional Intelligence (EI) of the cooperative bank staff and their Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB). Exploratory research was conducted to collect the primary data among the employees of 2 cooperative banks in Bhopal (having overall 14 branches) and a total of 150 employees were approached by visiting their workplace and out of which 102 employees responded. Pearson correlation was used to carry out the analysis, find the results and draw conclusions. Researchers have been conducting studies to understand the association between EI and OCB in public and private sector banks, it was found that Indian cooperative bank employees are yet to be explored. The current study is an attempt to investigate this untouched area and understand the connection between EI and OCB of Indian cooperative bank employees, where results have displayed a positive relation between EI and OCB.
