Grape (Vitis vinifera 1.) is one of the important commercial fruit crops. Bangalore Blue, a grape cultivar of South India is seriously affected by the shot hole borer, Xylosandrus crassiusculus (Motschulsky) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae). The present investigation was conducted to assess scolytid complex, damage potential in grape in Bangalore and Kolar, and to develop management strategies for X. crassiusculus.
Swabbing with dichlorvos @ 0.228% + acephate @ 0.225% + carbendazim @ 0.30% was the best and cost-effective treatment against X. crassiusculus with minimal harm to non-target organisms.
