Efficacy of management modules against inflorescence thrips, Scirtothrips dorsalis Hood (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) on mango

Abstract

Field experiments were carried out at Navsari Agricultural University, Paria (22°26. N; 72°58. E), India to study the efficacy of different management modules against Scirtothrips dorsalis on mango during four consecutive years i.e. 2009–10 to 2012–13. It was observed that the module comprising first spray of acephate 75 SP (0.04%) at panicle emergence stage followed by spinosad 45 SC (0.004%) after 21 days and a third need based spray was the most effective treatment in reducing the thrips population. The maximumnumber of fruits at marble stage (425.63 fruits/100panicles) was recorded with the treatment.
