Studies were conducted to understand the influence of weather factors on aphid population and the incidence of Papaya Ring Spot Virus (PRSV). It was observed that the crop planted during August to December recorded minimum PRSV incidence (10 to 20%) compared to February and March planted crop that succumbed to PRSV incidence at 60 days after planting. Asignificant positive correlation existed between aphid population and maximumtemperature during February to April months. Avoiding planting of papaya during February to April months could reduce PRSV.
