Abstract

Rhizome rot complex is one of the major constraints of ginger cultivation; Studies on effect of planting date on rhizome rot indicated that crop planted in March and April had significantly lower disease incidence (11.66 and 12.63% respectively) resulting in higher yield. Maximum disease incidence (25.07%) was recorded in July planted plot with less yield (14.46 kg/plot). Humnabad Local was found to be resistant for the rhizome rot disease with only 6.50%) could postpone the disease incidence up to 93 days after planting which is followed by Maran.
