Abstract

The development of a nation is measured with the development of business and industries of a nation. At the time of independence, we were very backward when compared with other nations both in business and industrial development. Due to the initiatives taken by the then governments, India achieved tremendous development both in business and industries. The business concerns contribute much for the development of country by paying various types of taxes, duties and providing large number of employment opportunities. Tirupur also contributes much income to the nation by way of foreign exchanges. It provides employment to approximately more than 4 lakh people from various parts of the country. The business people in Tirupur mostly depend on hosiery business. They provide better employment even to illiterate. The salary and wages also are normally reasonable. Regarding the environmental protection it is miserable to say nobody takes effort to safeguard the environment. Instead, they make more pollution to Tirupur city. It goes like that, after some years the residence of the Tirupur city is affected much by the pollution. Sometimes it may lead to death for unhealthy persons. By keeping the above views in mind the researcher as a preliminary step, tried to present a paper on “Business Ethics and Environmental Protection” with special reference to Tirupur city.
