Organizations today need to be global and connected, to be able to access world-wide resources. They have to be fiercely competitive with central focus on Customers (both on internal as well as external) for which they have to be knowledge dependent. This calls for Organizational Transformation in the Indian perspective from the old traditional systems to dynamic interactive systems. Continuous and cost-effective innovations are the need of the hour, to keep pace with the ever-changing environment.
Today we have a global and a diverse workforce, which is information hungry, which is technology oriented and wants to stay connected and considers time as money. Under such circumstances effective knowledge management and organizational learning can only take place through fast and reliable information systems. Such systems are only possible through integration of Information Technology.
The paper focuses on the learning imperative created among the Indian Organizations, in particular, because of the LPG and continuing economic reforms. Taking few examples from Indian as well as global scenario, like that of Satyam, IBM, e-Qube deployed by American Aerospace company Lockheed Martin, Ford etc. this paper tries to present how Information Technology has evolved as fast, reliable and effective tool for organization learning and knowledge management, both of which are the drivers of corporate success.
