Information technology (IT) has a crucial role in knowledge management (KM), as the facilitator or enabler. With the advent and increasing use of enterprise wide IT architectures, such as work flow systems and integrated packages such as ERP software (JD-Edward, SAP, Oracle, Ram Co and Microsoft Dynamics) narrow view of training will prove inadequate in preparing the future of learning human resources in organizations. While all spheres of business management today are a people technology combination in some form, knowledge management brings certain peculiarities. Knowledge is like magnificence it lies in the eyes of the beholder. Knowledge management brings three core resources-people, technologies and process. The objective of this paper is to present the case for importance of learning in the organization, and to encourage research in this area. Learning will become the key differentiator between organizations that survive and those that win.
