The paper discusses the trend in trade expansion posing a challenge to existing logistics infrastructure of the country in proper handling and clearing the export import cargo. The paper especially discusses the major trend in Air Cargo expansion and appraise the existing infrastructure of Air port transport in India. The paper suggests some steps to be taken for improving the air cargo infrastructure in India by proper financing and private sector participation in the days to come to overcome this problem.
