To select the right type of test for data analysis, you have to ask yourself two questions: what kind of data have you collected? What is your goal? It becomes more difficult when it is associated with management decision-making. Choosing the right type of test to compare measurements is a bit tricky. This becomes more difficult when you have to apply this test in management decision-making.
In this paper, an attempt has been made to compare the application of two tests viz. commonly used ranks test and Garrett's ranking method. In general ranks are given to the attributes and decision is taken on the basis of those ranks. But in management areas, sometimes it may be a condition that different persons give different ranks to different attributes. Under this condition, simple ranking is not sufficient to arrive at a decision. In this study such set of attributes have been taken and an attempt has been made to compare the application of these tests on the given set of attributes.
