Supporting difficult times by leave donation program

Abstract

To promote the spirit of sharing is caring, organizations these days have started with a very employee friendly program called Voluntary Leave Donation/Sharing Program. This program enables employees affected by some medical emergency or crisis situation and who have exhausted their own paid leave quota can receive leave donations from fellow employees. Leave pooling brings in certain benefits to the work place like increased bonding amongst employees, reduced turnover and more flexibility in work environment. To avail leave from leave donation bank, employee has to follow a proper procedure prescribed by the employer. Proper agency should administer the voluntary leave donation program to prevent leave abuse and to make it a successful leave option/initiative.
