Indian engineering education and its products are working around the world in various fields. With the name and fame it promises, Indian youth is attracted to this field as their career. This has resulted in the emergence of more than 45 lakh engineering colleges in India, which annually produce around 14 crore engineers. While roughly 7 lakh companies in India have shut down in the year 2019–20. In this paper, we propose the concept of FARREISTA (Acronyms of Funding, Appointment, Rejuvenate, Retrenchment, Expected Profit, Innovation for Society or Social Innovation, Training And working process): a social innovation model, which shows how we will employ these engineers. This paper is divided into several categories:
Introduction: In this section, we have introduced engineering education and social innovation in India.
Review of Literature: We have tried to summarize social innovation literature in the engineering field.
The Research Method: This paper is secondary data based on exploratory research.
Theoretical Background: We have studied five social innovations in this paper and each of them is working in the engineering sector and idea generation for the model.
Social Innovator in Engineering Education: This section elaborates on how a social entrepreneur can work in engineering education.
This section covers the practicality aspect of the model.
