In the most societies of the world, women have been defined largely in terms of their functions as wives and mothers and by cultural image of their sexuality. Many people including women themselves think that they cannot think of performing any role other then wife and mother. Our present study has tried to shatter this long held notion about women's place and the accepted belief of their nature and function. With the possibility of economic independence through respectable employment become a reality of women. They do take advantage of the opportunity. The educated Indian woman, when comes in contact with a broader culture than that of her home, learns about new role potentialities and would like to adopt certain changes in the traditional roles.
