The characteristic pattern of dissipation of the four major isomers of HCH has been evaluated on pigeonpea and chickpea. The alpha and gamma isomers dissipated with time whereas, beta isomer persisted. The rate of dissipation of the delta isomer was also slow. At harvest time, the cumulative residues were much higher on pod covers than on grains for both the pulses.
