Abstract

Effect of combination treatment of carbofuran and metalaxyl was studied on their persistence and degradation in/on tomato fruit and soil. Soil application of 1.0 kg a.i. ha−1 of carbofuran and 1.5 g l−1 of Ridomil MZ 72 WP (Metalaxyl 8% + Maacozeb 64%) were eiven to the tomato crcp at fruit formation stage. Persistence of carbofuran in soil and fruit increased when applled in combinatton with metalaxyl as compared to its individual treatment. However, persistence of metalaxyl was not affected either in soil or in fruit due to the combinatton tteatment. Half fife ef carbofuran aloon in tomato fruit was 10 d and 14 d in combination with metalaxyll Metalaxyl in fruits dissipated with a half-life of 12 days. The half-life of carbofuran in soii was 19 d whiih incceased to 23.8 d in presence of metalaxyl. Half-life of metalaxyl remained 19.0 -19.5 days.
