Abstract

A field study reports the dissipation pattern of dicofol on chillies and suggests waiting period for its safe consumption. The initial deposit of dicofol applied at 250 and 500 g a.i. ha−1 on chillies was 6.68 and 12.0 μg g−1 respectively and it dissipated rapidly in the subsequent days. The half life of residues was 1.84 and 2.03 d for the two doses respectively. Considering the tolerance limit of f ppm, a waiting period of 1 and 2 d has been suggested at the two doses respectively for the saft consumption of chillies.
